GRUHINI MAHOTSAV
Since
the vedic era Indian Women have a specific & Significant place in
social & family life. During the Muslim & British rule women were
forced to live within the boundaries of House. As the natural
result of this restriction of centuries, women power was at almost
negligent stage at the time of independance. Efforts were
taken for upliftment & strenghtening of women by many leaders from
Maharashtra like Savitribai Phule, Ch. Shahu Maharaj. Presently
this act for increasing women participation in solving social
problems and making family life better is being carried out by
young,energetic & visionary political leadership of MLA Shri Satej
(Bunty) Patil by providing guidance for events like Gruhini
Mahotsav. This event an reflection of progress of Women of
Kolhapur is organised by Dr.D.Y.Patil Art, Sports, Educational &
Cultural trust, Kolhapur and co-ordinated by Sou.Pratibha Satej
Patil.
Maharashtra
government has introduced the system of Bachat Gat for women
empowerment. Gruhini Mahotsav is organised annually to mark
"Women's Day" is not just an exhibition to display various
products prepared by the BACHAT GATS or the natural cooking skills
of women, but an step towards creating awareness about various
social problems and their solutions. Various activites are also
organised for mental & social devlopment of women during the
event. The sixth Gruhini Mahotsav will be held from 7th to 9th
March 2009.
